President - Grace L. Judson

After 25 years in the corporate world, Grace Judson left her executive position without a backward glance to become self employed.  Bringing with her what she’d learned about leadership, teamwork, and the importance of clear, empathic communication, she founded her company, Svaha Concepts, in 2005.

She combines her corporate experience with strong writing skills and an intuitive understanding of her clients and their work to help business owners discover, develop, and communicate the unique value of their work.

Grace has been involved with ASTD San Diego since 2008, facilitating the North County Meet & Mingle for over three years, founding and leading the Independent Consultants’ Special Interest Group, and serving on the YTTL Committee for two years running.  She won the Volunteer Rookie of the Year award in 2008, and the Distinguished Service Award in 2010, and previously held the Membership Director position on the ASTD San Diego Board.  Her BA degree in Writing is from Bard College in New York.

President Elect - Nancy McMonigal

Nancy McMonigal has been involved in the design and delivery of training for almost 20 years. She has devoted her professional career to developing blended sales training programs with a focus on technology.
 
Nancy worked as an interactive media producer and training project manager at various medical advertising and electronics companies, including Bozell Healthcare, McCann Healthcare West, and Extron Electronics.  After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcasting and video/film production from the University of Minnesota, Nancy began blending training with marketing, a move that paved the way for her career progression into organizational sales training and development.
 
In 2001, Nancy founded Locus Media, a training company specializing in the creation and delivery of sales training programs through eLearning, ILT, and selling apps for sales representatives.

CFO - Constantine “Tino” Bautista

Inspired by a misspent youth watching Fantasy Island and the Love Boat, Constantine Bautista has become a hospitality industry veteran of 21 years and currently serves as a training consultant with the U.S. Navy. With his thorough understanding of  training & talent management, he is part of a team that is facilitating a precedent setting, culture building initiative for naval bases worldwide. 
 
Prior to his work with the U.S. Navy,  Mr. Bautista was employed as the Director of Organizational Development & Training for Ace Parking Management, Inc., a National Training Manager with Signature Worldwide, a restaurant manager with the Tennessee Restaurant Company, and held various positions including revenue manager and corporate sales manager with Hilton Hotels and InterContinental Hotels Group. 

Constantine attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island where he studied Hospitality Management. When he is not working, he can be found pursuing his other passion, art and painting.

Technology Director - Iswar Radhakrishnan

A technology and training professional with over 25 years of industry experience, Iswar has worked as a systems architect with EDS Corporation, and acted in several roles at Sun Microsystems (now Oracle), including product engineering, line management, technical sales and process improvement.

Iswar received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary, a Graduate Certificate in Materials Science from Stanford University and a Diploma in Computer Systems from Honeywell Institute. His business accreditations include industrial (green) biotechnology, life sciences management and six sigma certification. He presently develops training programs and course materials for commercial technology products and is also a freelance writer and editor.  His outside interests include animal welfare and the environment.

Professional Development Director - Gabriela Alvarez

Gaby holds a BA in Business Administration, an MBA in Organizational Development, and obtained her CPLP in 2009.  Gaby has over 15 years of experience within training and development. She currently works for USE Credit Union as the Training and Development Manager, her primary focus is strategic training planning, training project management, training design, development and implementation.  The training programs she oversees include operations, lending, customer service, compliance, sales, performance management and leadership for employees in the corporate office departments, call center and 8 branches.
 
Prior to this role, Gaby was the Training and Development Manger for the United Airlines Reservations center in Mexico City.  
 
Gaby has served the ASTD San Diego board of directors for 4 years.

Programs Co-Director - Carol Sheckler

Carol Sheckler, PHR, currently serves as a Corporate Training Specialist and HR Consultant.  She has over 24 years of healthcare management experience with expertise in health promotion, continuing medical education and her true passion - corporate training.  Carol has developed and facilitated unique, interactive and engaging programs in the areas of customer service, effective communication, and leadership skills. Her clients include a variety of San Diego organizations including Sharp HealthCare, Vista Community Clinic, and California State University San Marcos in addition to K-12 schools, medical device companies and union trades. Carol is a certified Crucial Confrontations™ trainer through Vital Smarts.™ In 2011, she received her Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

As a Toastmaster International member since 2009, Carol currently serves as President of the Tick Talk Toastmasters Club in Carlsbad and was awarded first place at the 2011 Area 18 International Speech Contest.

Programs Co-Director - Liz Aitcheson

Born and raised in New Jersey, Liz earned her BA and MEd in North Carolina where, for 11 years before moving to California, she worked for a division of Ecolab. In her last year there, with her degree almost complete, she designed and facilitated OSHA-mandated safety training for the manufacturing associates, and food, workplace and driver safety for newly-hired sales associates. Before joining Realty Income Corporation in Escondido, she put together a workplace safety program for new hires at Time Warner.

Her current role as Learning & Development Specialist incorporates Leadership Development, coordinating the mentoring program, the performance appraisal process and some coaching.

Liz's husband, also a chapter member, is a retired minister and teacher. They live in Temecula, have two grown and married children, and one grandchild.

Membership Director - Gregg Fasbinder

His Fortune 500 accomplishments include nine-time President’s Club award winner, the recipient of the first ever Outstanding Achievement in Excellence Award and earned the 2007 Senior Manager of the Year award.  Gregg attended Pennsylvania State University and the University of Texas and studied medicine and nutritional biochemistry. Away from the office, his interests include family, exploring countries and cultures, cycling, yoga, tennis, meditation and the study of alternative investments.

Secretary - Mary Jane Riccardi

Mary Jane Riccardi has over 30 years of experience in providing learning systems and programs.  As Senior Learning & Development Manager at Kleinfelder, Mary Jane creates and leads a systematic approach to learning and development initiatives at all levels of the organization.  Mary Jane also plans and facilitates leadership development and succession planning processes and systems. 
 
She has a BS in Business Management and an Executive MBA from San Diego State University.  She has previously served on ASTD San Diego's Board of Directors as Programs Co-Director.
